Modifying Advanced Properties  > PCI PME

PCI PME

The PCI PME (Power Management Event) property enables the Wake-on-LAN (WOL) function to wake the adapter up from a low-power mode, based on the settings of the “Wake on Magic Packet” and “Wake on Pattern Match” properties.

For example, if the PCI PME and Wake on Magic Packet properties are enabled, the adapter wakes up from a low-power mode when receiving a Magic Packet. If the PCI PME, Wake on Magic Packet, and Wake on Pattern Match properties are enabled, the adapter wakes up from a low-power mode when receiving a Magic Packet or a packet that matches one of the patterns specified in the operating system.

To enable or disable the PCI PME property, do the following:

1. Access the Advanced Properties.

See Accessing Advanced Properties.

2. Select PCI PME in the Property box.

The PCI PME page is displayed as shown in Figure 34.

3. Select one of the following options:

Enable — The adapter wakes up from a low-power mode according to the settings of the Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match properties.

When the Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match properties are both disabled, the adapter stays in a low-power mode.

Disable — The adapter stays in a low-power mode regardless of the settings of the Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match properties.

4. Click OK.
